Report: Milan Closing in on Szoboszlai

AC Milan is closing in on Salzburg winger Dominik Szoboszlai according to Calciomercato.com. Contact has already been constant between the two sides and the rumored transfer fee is far lower than many have expected.

The inclusion of Ralf Rangnick, former head of Red Bull Global Soccer, in the negotiations has been a strong plus. His experience with both Salzburg and Leipzig have given him a unique view of the players within that system and Milan is now using that information to bolster their roster. Szoboszlai joined Salzburg in 2017 but became a major player on the team over past two seasons. In that time he has scored 15 goals in just 41 games.

Milan haven’t been the only teams interested in the Hungarian winger. Both Arsenal and PSG have made inquiries but it appears that the Serie A club now have an inside track. Word is that Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis has approved of Rangnick moving forward to make the deal happen.

The only thing that appears to be up for discussion is the transfer fee. Salzburg will certainly want to get more than the 27 million Euros that is being rumored but, should that be the deal, it will certainly be a steal for Milan.
