Dominik Szoboszali, Red Bull Salzburg’s,19 year-old midfielder, has been linked with Italian giants AC Milan. Most rumors, connecting Szoboszali and Milan, were in anticipation of the potential hiring of Ralf Rangnick as the club’s new manager. New information has come to light that the Rossoneri have had their eye on the young Hungarian since January.
Reports from sempremilan.com claim that Milan almost secured a transfer for Szoboszali for €22million in January. After Salzburg’s sister club RB Leipzig secured the transfer of Dani Olmo, A primary target for Milan. Milan decided to pull the trigger on a deal for the Salzburg man. Milan established an agreement with the player and nearly finished an agreement with the club. A timing problem seems to have been the only reason Salzburg kept their man.
Since January the young midfielder’s stock has gone up and teams from all over Europe are now interested in securing the 19 year-old. Milan will have to prepare to fight for Szoboszali and pay more than their original deal. With only a few weeks until the summer window, Milan may be the next club to sign a young Salzburg player.
