Salzburg Lose Kristensen for Four Weeks

Red Bull Salzburg right back Rasmus Kristensen will not be available to Jesse Marsch in the coming month as the player suffered a left thigh injury during the warm up game with WSG Triol last week.

The 22-year-old Danish defender had only made nine appearances with the club since joining in 2019 but appeared to be making his way into the starting lineup. The ever-rotating cast at Salzburg meant that he would see significant minutes leading into the end of the campaign and one where the team looks to retain their championship against a formidable opponent in LASK.

Kristensen made the move from Ajax where he played in 20 games for the club and scored one goal. While he hasn’t been called into the senior national team for Denmark, it appears that he is on the fast-track having already made 22 appearances for the U-21 squad.

Whether Kristensen returns this year remains to be seen. It is more than likely that he will be shuttered fro the remainder of the season and return with the club at the start of the next campaign.
