New York Red Bulls II were able to round off week 3 of USL eCup with a 5-0 win over Austin Bold FC on Friday night. The result saw NYRB II grab a 3rd place finish and earn 600 points for the week.
Ben Mines was once again chosen to lead NYRB II’s representative Chile. Meanwhile, Austin Bold had to rely on their club communications leader Julien Llerena to play with their representative Italy. Llerena played in place of midfielder Valeri Saramutin and was up front about his skill level when it came to FIFA.

Mines didn’t waste any time taking advantage of the mismatch as he scored with Fabián Orellana 3 minutes into the match. The RBNY midfielder would double his lead 10 minutes later after he fired home with Alexis Sanchez from close range.
Llerena had a good chance to grab one back in the 26th minute but his chance with Lorenzo Insigne was denied by a good save from Claudio Bravo.
Mines than capitalized on a bad mistake from Llerena when his goalkeeper passed the ball right to Sanchez from a free kick which was shot into an empty net to give Mines a 3-0 lead going into half.
Mines wouldn’t waste any time in the second half adding to the lead as he scored with Christian Bravo 11 minutes in to make in 4-0. The RBNY midfielder would continue to dominate the rest of the half and added a 5th in the 81st minute when he tapped home with Orellana to cap off a dominant victory.
