Cristian Casseres Jr. signs extension with New York Red Bulls

The New York Red Bull’s announced today that Crisitian Casseres Jr. has signed a new multi year contract.

The young Venezuelan enters his third season with the club. He broke out last year and will be expected to continue to improve this season.

“I’m very happy to renew my contract,” said Casseres in a press release from the club. “With the New York Red Bulls, with this beautiful family that has been created by everyone that’s part of this team, I’m glad to continue here with the team and will continue to give my all for them”
“Cristian took a big step forward last season,” said head coach Chris Armas. “And I’m happy he is rewarded with a new contract. Cristian has all the tools, physically and mentally, to continue to grow into an excellent player. He is fearless on the field and his worth ethic and determination to get better every day will continue to serve him and our club well.”

Getting a new contract done with casseres is a great piece of business. He is an impact player on the field and deserves an extension and presumably a raise. It also puts the Red Bulls in a good place to sell him for a good amount of money.
