Tuesday, the New York Red Bulls announced 2020 preseason plans. As in years past the Red Bulls split their time between two locations with camps in Florida and Tucson.
Camp opens January 18th with physicals, then players head to Florida on the January 19th to train at IMG academy in Bradenton Florida.
The team trains in Florida for about two weeks before returning home on February 1st for some cold weather training. Then they depart for Arizona, playing matches on the February 15th, 19th , and 22nd. They face Real Salt Lake, Houston Dynamo, and Sporting Kansas City over those dates.
With no Concacaf Champions League participation, the Red Bulls first team preseason is longer than the last two seasons.
The preseason schedule is not that noteworthy. However, it give fans an idea of when and what the roster will look like in 2020. So far, fans are awaiting news of reinforcements. Ideally, by February 1st that picture will be much clearer, giving the team a solid month of training ahead of the home opener on March 1st against FC Cincinnati.
