Evan Louro Departs From New York Red Bulls

Evan Louro announced on Instagram today that his tenure with the New York Red Bulls has come to an end.

Louro spent the last three seasons as the main goalkeeper in USL Championship side New York Red Bulls II. During that time, Louro appeared 79 times over. Despite signing an MLS contract, Louro never played a minute in MLS. The only time he has been in the 18 of the main team was when Luis Robles went down with an injury.

11 years, 2 months, 14 days. Wouldn’t change a thing. Thanks for everything @newyorkredbulls @rbnyacademy ✌🏻 On to the next chapter ➡️

NYRBII currently have two goalkeepers rostered; Rashid Nuhu, the 2019 Super Draft pick who in his time on the field has not shown much promise; and Miguel Silva, the 19-year-old goalkeeper from Venezuela. Miguel Silva probably holds the edge to step in and fill the void that Evan leaves behind. However, only time will tell as to who John Wolyniec believes deserves the starting role.

Good luck Evan!
