The New York Red Bulls have found new confidence from midfielder Kaku since a slow start to the 2019 season. Unfortunately for Kaku, that slow start culminated with the Paraguay national team passing over him for their Copa America selection.
After achieving only two points in their three group stage matches (Colombia, Argentina and Qatar), it seems as if Paraguay need to go back to the drawing board before 2022 World Cup qualifying ramps up. Kaku broke the news himself that he will be included for selection once more during their September friendly matches overseas.

Kaku made his one-time FIFA switch from Argentina to Paraguay last May. He immediately earned a call to his first camp in June 2018. His first appearance came during the last 31 minutes in a 4-2 defeat to Japan. It was their only match of the window. He would feature two more times in November 2018 and March 2019 to round out his three caps with Paraguay.
Kaku has appeared for the Red Bulls 23 times in all competitions this season, registering two goals and four assists.
Paraguay will make the long flight to Japan on September 5th, attempting to exact revenge from last June. Then they head halfway home to Jordan on September 10th. The Red Bulls have matches on August 31st and September 15th. Kaku should not miss any club time during his international travel. Paraguay’s World Cup qualifying campaign will begin in March 2020. No other matches have been announced for the squad.
