CONCACAF Gold Cup rosters are not due into FIFA until midnight of June 5th, but that didn’t stop Haiti from announcing their final 23-man roster two weeks early. New York Red Bulls forward Derrick Etienne is one of three MLS players named to the squad.

Etienne has 10 caps for Haiti, registering three goals and an assist since making his debut in November 2016. The 22-year old also has an appearance for the U-20 Haiti squad in 2015. This will be Etienne’s first Gold Cup appearance.
Before Haiti travels to Costa Rica for their first Gold Cup game, they will contest two friendly matches in a span of four days. First, they face El Salvador at Audi Field in D.C. on June 2nd before jet setting to Santiago to square off against Chile on June 5th.
June 16th is Haiti’s first group stage match against Bermuda in Costa Rica. Then they round out the group with Nicaragua in Frisco, TX on June 20th before ending with Costa Rica at Red Bull Arena on June 24th.
If assumptions are correct, the final Gold Cup squad will be the same team to face El Salvador and Chile. This means Etienne will miss the June 1st match when RBNY host Real Salt Lake.
