It may be an off-week for New York Red Bulls II but the front office is busy and announced the signing of defender Janos Loebe and forward Amarildo de Souza. The de Souza rumored signing, leaked earlier in the week by John Perdicaro, as the player photographed signing with the team on social media.
De Souza is no mystery to the Red Bulls organization. He played for Red Bull Brasil last season and attended preseason with the first time in Arizona. Expect him to debut starting next week when Red Bulls II play Nashville SC Sunday, March, 24th.
Also joining the team is 23-year-old defender Loebe. The Fordham University standout earned Atlantic-10 offensive player of the year awards twice during his tenure, tallying 31 assists as a Ram. Loebe played for the Red Bulls U23 team in 2018 and ranked highly as a prospect before becoming a professional. The Red Bulls selected Loebe in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft and he will now ply his craft in the USL Championship.
Loebe and de Souza join Tom Barlow, Chris Lema, Jordan Scarlette, Allen Yanes and Jared Stroud as USL players for the 2019 season. The rest of the roster will be filled by MLS loanees as well as academy players throughout the campaign.
