The New York Red Bulls II offseason rebuild continues. The club announced Wednesday afternoon the signing of Edgardo Rito on loan.
Rito joins the team from Fundacion Yaracuyanos FC. The 23-year-old defender appeared in 23 matches at Fundacion, logging nearly two thousand minutes across all competitions.
“Rito is a player that impressed us with his pace and athleticism,” said NYRB II Head Coach John Wolyniec. “He has shown an ability to be really aggressive both defensively and offensively, and our staff is excited to get a chance to work with him.”
NYRBII is still rebuilding their backline following a number of player departures during the offseason. Rito joins Allen Yanes, and Jordan Scarlett as confirmed defensive players signed to USL contracts.
