New York Red Bulls II may have a new left back on trial according to rumors on Twitter. Timar Lewis, a Jamaican international from Harbour View FC appears to have left the team for the United States where he may be joining the team in Arizona.
Lewis is 19 years-old but has already made 39 professional appearances, first with Sandals South Coast in 2017/18 and then 21 games with Harbour View this past year. Over that time he scored four goals while showing a dynamic presence moving forward.
New York’s USL team has been a factory for fantastic offensive players since starting in the league in 2015. Most recently Michael Amir Murillo, Noah Powder and Justin Bilyeu have come through the system. While all of them aside from Murillo may not have reached the first division, they have impressed and provided excitement for fans across the league.
It is worth noting that the team has not confirmed or denied Lewis’ trial. There hasn’t been a confirmation of his arrival in Arizona and the news may show little association with the team in the future. However, there is confirmation that Lewis has left Jamaica and should be on the radar of teams in the United States very soon.
