New Season, New Stuff
The next time you enter Red Bull Arena, you’ll notice that there are a few changes. The New York Red Bulls implemented changes to upgrade the fan experience in and around the facility.
Bigger Video Boards
New video board are being installed at the North and South ends of the stadium. Each one measures 24 feet high by 55 feet wide (which is twice the size of the old boards). The new boards support higher-quality live video and instant replay, while showcasing statistics, graphics and important messages for the fans.
One of the boards new features is variable content zoning. This allows the screens to display one large image or to be divided into multiple zones. Various content combinations can display during a match. The downside? The upcoming venue enhancements limits select sections of Red Bull Arena, flexing capacity down during the 2019 season.
Access to Red Bull Arena will be via mobile ticketing-only in 2019. This will provide guests a safer and more convenient ticketing experience while at the same time, increasing protection against fraud. Some customers complained fraudulent tickets were being fraudently being copied and re-scanned at select matches, denying fans entry to the arena, even when they actually bought the tickets.
Red members will receive a digital Red Card which can be accessed via the Red Bulls mobile app on their smartphones. Updated details of the new ticketing policy, including FAQ’s will be available at http://www.newyorkredbulls.com in the coming weeks.
No cash on you? No problem. A predominantly cashless environment at Red Bull Arena will create a faster customer experience at both concession and merchandise stands, portables and the club’s official team store, the BullShop. Credit cards, mobile phones and all other stored payments will be accepted (*select stands within Red Bull Arena will still accept cash transactions).
In addition to decreasing check out time, the new transactional units will also be 100% customer-facing, so the credit card or mobile phone in use never leaves the customer’s hand. All units are Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant.
These are just some of the new additions to enhance the fan experience at the place we call home. The Red Bulls open 2019 season with a Concacaf Champions League match against Atletico Pantoja on
February 27. Kickoff is scheduled at 8:00pm. The 2019 MLS opener is on March 16 against San Jose Earthquakes. Kickoff is scheduled at 3:30pm.
