Red Bull Arena to Host Pair of International Games

Red Bull Arena will play host to two games during the FIFA March international break, both of which to feature South and Central American teams. Paraguay will play Peru on March 22nd and Honduras was play Ecuador on March 26th. Both games are friendlies .

For the Paraguayan head coach Juan Carlos Osorio, it will be a return home of sorts. The former Mexican national manager was the head coach for the New York Red Bulls back in 2008 and 2009. He is the only coach to lead them to an MLS Cup Final but also the last coach to lead the team to a losing season. In recent years he came under criticism for his results with Mexico but led the team to the knockout stages in the World Cup in Russia before resigning his position.

Their South American opponents last played in Red Bull Arena in March of 2018 in their lead-up to the World Cup. This time it will be a warm of for the Copa America tournament slated for the summer. Peru have made back-to-back World Cups for the first time since the 1980’s and hope that they are on course for success in one of the world’s toughest competitions.

Honduras and Ecuador are familiar with Red Bull Arena. Ecuador recently played against the Jamaican national team in 2018 and Honduras played their Gold Cup games in Harrison New Jersey as well.

Tickets go on sale to the general public for these games at 1PM today.
