The New York Red Bulls have announced their 2019 MLS schedule, beginning on March 2nd against the Columbus Crew and ending on October 6th at Montreal.
As with last season, New York will have to contend with early congestion due to their inclusion on the Concacaf Champions League. Their first games against Club Atletico Pantoja will take place on February 20th and 27th, just three days before the start of the MLS season. Last season, the Red Bulls handled themselves well, winning their home opener against Portland and advancing to the Champions League semifinal before falling to Chivas de Guadelajara.
The more notable fixtures include a May 19th clash with the current MLS Cup Champion Atlanta United at Red Bull Arena. This season will also see less games against Eastern Conference rivals, giving only a home an away leg. This year’s Hudson River Derby will take place on Sunday July 14th and Saturday August 24th.
Red Bulls will play newcomers FC Cincinnati on April 27th at Red Bull Arena and will visit the newly minted Banc of California Stadium on August 11th.
