The New York Red Bulls U17 team claimed a hard fought 2-0 victory over the Philadelphia Union. The team remains undefeated in 2018-19 GA Cup Qualifying after three matches.
RBNY took an early lead through a well-struck volley. The Union struggled to find holes in the Red Bulls’ defense as for the remainder of the half.
A late first half attempt from the Union struck the back post and denied them of an equalizer.
Philly looked more lethal down the middle at the start of the second half. They threatened from free kicks, but none of their efforts found the back of the net.P
RBNY took advantage of their opponent’s high pressure, however, and found an insurance goal from a counter attack.
