Entering the spring season the New York Red Bulls U-17 will have a top 2004 product joining the academy.
Rumor: New York Red Bull Academy set to add top 2004 Prospect
I’m hearing from a credible source that Kenan Hot, whose father announced he would be leaving PDA a few days ago, will be joining the Red Bull Academy.
Kenan is the younger cousin of former Red Bull Homegrown and FC Motown head coach Sacir Hot. Kenan has already had multiple trials abroad and is a fixture of the USA U-15 BNT team. He is the number 5 midfielder and number 19 player in his class according to Top Drawer Soccer.
This season he has been playing up an age group with PDA U-17’s and has performed very well scoring 2 goals in 12 games. Hot can play anywhere in the middle but is probably best as a defensive mid or as a box to box type. He has skill on the ball but is also strong in the tackle.
What stands out about Hot, is his ability to use his body. He is adept physically and uses body feints to create space for himself to turn upfield and play direct.
With this addition, the academy may have the two best 2004’s in the state of New Jersey, Kenan Hot and Dantouma Toure. While other MLS academies have led to greater competition for players it is great to see RBNY can still bring in elite talent from the tri-state area.
