New York Red Bulls striker Bradley Wright-Phillips received Played of the Week for the 29th week of the 2018 Major League Soccer season.
Red Bulls’ Wright-Phillips Named MLS Player of the Week
Wright-Phillips scored a hat trick for the Red Bulls in the team’s 3-3 draw with historical rivals D.C. United. Wright-Phillips scored his fifth hat trick for the Red Bulls, and brought his goal tally to 19 this season.
Wright-Phillips remains disappointed, despite the hat trick, by the fact that his team did not win the match, saying, “I don’t feel we really looked like ourselves defensively. It is obviously good to score but we were always coming back.”
Luis Robles took a more rose-colored view of Write-Phillips performance, saying he was “…grateful for Bradley..”
Wright-Phillips will be looking to continue his goal scoring form in the Red Bulls’ next game against Toronto FC on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Red Bull Arena.
