Adams has been on the rise into favor for USA since the team failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. The 19-year old defensive midfielder has been rumored for a European move recently, but will at least finish out the MLS season. He has appeared for the Red Bulls 26 times across all competitions, scoring in the Champions League quarterfinals against Tijuana.
Parker is new to the US scene since joining RBNY, having appeared in the team’s last two matches against Ireland and newly crowned world champions, France. He has appeared in 21 league matches for the Red Bulls this season.
The newest name to the list is central defender, Aaron Long. Long has benefitted from the Red Bulls development system in the last few years. After being named USL Defender of the Year in 2016, he joined the senior side and has appeared 59 times over the past two seasons for them. He and Parker have helped anchor the best defense in MLS’ eastern conference, only giving up 29 goals in 28 games. They are the only MLS defenders on the September roster.
The US will face a stacked Brazil side locally at MetLife Stadium September 7th before heading southwest to Nashville September 11th for a friendly with Mexico.
