GlobeBull: Five More Internationals Called to National Teams
Panama regulars Michael Murrillo and Fidel Escobar will don their red, white and blue once again for their friendly back home against Venezuela on September 11th. Murrillo has 23 caps and Escobar has 25 at the moment. Both have one goal each for Los Canaleros.
Kemar Lawrence and Jamaica will stay local for their friendly against Ecuador at Red Bull Arena on September 7th before facing the Cayman Islands at home for Matchday 1 of CONCACAF Nations League qualifying. Lawrence has 45 caps and three goals for the national team.
Allen Yanes, New York Red Bulls II defender, will attempt to earn his first set of caps for the Guatemala national team when they face Argentina on September 7th in Los Angeles then Ecuador on September 11th in Chicago in a pair of friendlies. Guatemala look to get the ball rolling two years after their alleged corruption suspension by FIFA. The Concacaf lifted the suspension on May 31st, but the team missed deadlines for entry into the Gold Cup as well as Nations League and Copa Centroamericana qualifying.
Newly anointed Red Bulls midfielder Cristian Casseres Jr. has received his second call up for U-20 Venezuela. He has played with the U-17 side the past two years, earning seven caps. His other call up with the U-20s occurred in last year’s camp for preparation for the U-20 World Cup. The team will play in a training camp from September 5th through September 12th.
The Red Bulls don’t play a match until September 16th. None are expected to miss time in MLS.
