Wednesday afternoon, the Haiti Futbol Federation announced its roster for their Nations League qualifier against Sint Maarten on September 10th in Port-au-Prince. Within that list is New York Red Bulls forward, Derrick Etienne Jr. He and Zachary Heriveaux (NE Revs) are the only two MLS players called in.

GlobeBull – Derrick Etienne Jr. Summoned for CONCACAF Nations League Qualifier
Etienne has six caps for Haiti since debuting with the senior team in 2016. His lone goal for Les Grenadiers came in the 20th minute of a January 2017 Gold Cup qualifier against Trinidad & Tobago to level the score at one. Haiti would go on to win 4-3 AET to advance to the Caribbean-Central America Gold Cup play-in series against Nicaragua.
As CONCACAF kicks off its new Nations League, all non-2018 World Cup hexagonal participants are seeded into four pots for Nations League qualifing based on the March 2018 CONCACAF Ranking Index. As the 9th ranked team in CONCACAF, Pot A contained Haiti.
There will be a total of four match days for each of the 34 teams. For Matchday 1, Pot A will face Pot D and Pot B will face Pot C. Haiti’s Pot D matchup will be against 39th ranked Sint Maarten.
After each team has concluded their four matches in the March 2019 FIFA window, they are placed within the three CONCACAF Nations League groups based on their results. The top six teams will join the Hex participants to make 12 teams in League A, the next 16 teams will be in League B and the final 12 will be in League C. These groups will begin play during the September 2019 FIFA window.
It is unlikely Etienne misses any matches for RBNY as their games are September 1st and 16th.
