RB Leipzig has made young English winger Ademola Lookman a priority this transfer season but it appears that the 20-year old will remain with his current club Everton in the Barclay’s Premier League.
Leipzig Target Lookman Remaining at Everton
“He is our player and he stays,” said Everton Manager Marco Silva during a recent Guardian interview.
Lookman was seen as an expendable player under Sam Alardyce last season and was loaned to Leipzig during that time. The East German side was hoping to make that move permanent but couldn’t agree on a transfer fee with the Liverpool team. The most recent rumored fee for Lookman seems to have been set at £20 million with Leipzig not keen on spending that much for the youngster just yet.
During his time with Leipzig Lookman scored five goals over 11 appearances and impressed tremendously under manager Ralf Hausenhüttl. Now that Ralf Rangnick has taken over the team for this season, Lookman would have a chance to grow alongside one of the top minds in the game before being a part of Julian Nagelsmann’s team in 2019.
