The United Soccer League named Jared Stroud to their Team of the Week after scoring three goals in New York Red Bulls II 5-1 win over the Richmond Kickers.

Stroud’s first goal in the game came unconventionally. Richmond goalkeeper Travis Worra’s clearance went off the forwards face and into the goal. Stroud added a second just twelve minutes later. He completed his hat trick midway through the second half.

Stroud had been NYRB II’s best playmaker coming into the game as he led the team with 6 assists on the year. With the former Colgate standout showing his eye for goal he could see himself as a regular in the starting lineup for NYRB II going forward.

Team of the Week: Cameron Iwasa (SAC), Jared Stroud (NY), Raul Mendiola (LV), Marvin Loria (POR), Alex Dixon (OKC), Juan Pablo Caffa (FRS), Aodhan Quinn (OC), Neveal Hackshaw (CHS), Shannon Gomez (SAC), Paul Marie (RNO), Travis Worra (RIC)

Bench: Maxime Crepeau (OTT), Conor Donovan (RGV), Kevan George (CLT), Oliver Shannon (ATL), Corben Bone (CIN), Gordon Wild (CHS), Jerry van Ewijk (RNO)
